Solution

Carbon dioxide(CO2) gas plays no role in respiration, still, it is an important supporter of life and all life would come to an end if there were no carbon dioxide in the air because-

  • Carbon dioxide is an utmost important constituent for the photosynthesis of plants.
  • During the process of photosynthesis, plant prepares their food in presence of sunlight, carbon dioxide, and chlorophyll and give out oxygen that we use for respiration.
  • If carbon dioxide would have not been there the presence of oxygen and life can not be imagined.
  • Carbon dioxide also traps the heat from sunlight to keep the earth warm and protects the temperature to go down to freezing point during the night.
  • In this way, carbon dioxide is a very important supporter of life.
