Carbon dioxide rich blood is mostly transported through:
Veins
Veins are blood vessels that transport blood from all body parts to the heart. Body cells use up oxygen, supplied by arteries, for respiration and in turn generate carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide is picked up by the blood and the carbon dioxide rich blood is carried by the veins to the heart. Arteries mostly carry oxygen-rich blood whereas capillaries are the tiny blood vessels supplying blood to each and every cell of the body and contain mixed blood. Neurons carry electrical signals and not blood.
