Carbon monoxide poisoning happens dues to the formation of __________ when carbon monoxide reacts with Hb.
Carries hormones from hypothalamus to pituitary.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is caused due to reaction of carbon monoxide with the haemoglobin (Hb) in blood, forming a stable compound called carboxyhaemoglobin. Hb has a higher affinity for carbon monoxide compared to oxygen. This reduces the amount of oxygen being transported by the blood. Lack of oxygen can result in even death.
