Solution

The correct option is A 8
  • Number of candies that Carla has = 24
  • Number of candies in each jar = 4
  • We have to find the number of jars that Carla used.
  • The multiplication equation will be,
  • Number of jars ✕ Candies in each jar = 24
  • Let us use the letter “s” as the number of jars.s×4=24
  • Since 6×4=24,s=6.
  • Therefore, Carla used 6 jars.
  • Number of candies that Daphne has = 24
  • Now, Daphne used 3 fewer jars than Carla.
  • Number of jars Daphne used = 6 - 3 = 3
  • We have to find the number of candies that Daphne keeps in each jar.
  • The multiplication equation will be,
  • Number of jars × Candies in each jar =24
  • Let’s take “z” as the number of candies in each jar. 3×z=24
  • Since, 3×8=24,z=8.
  • Hence, Daphne keeps 8 candies in each of the three jars that she uses.
  • Hence, option C is correct.
