Adaptations of carnivorous plants:

Plants that grow in certain nitrogen-deficient areas cannot get nitrogen from the soil. Some of them have special modifications to trap insects, which after digestion, is a source of nitrogen for them. For example, in Nepenthes, the lamina of the leaf is modified like a pitcher. Digestive juices are present inside the pitcher to digest the trapped insect.
