Solution

The correct option is C ₹1254
Total amount invested = ₹6030
MV of 1 share = ₹50
Brokerage on 1 share = 0.5% of ₹50 = 0.5100×50 = ₹0.25
Cost of one share for Carol = ₹50 + 0.25 = ₹50.25
Number of shares bought = 603050.25 = 120
Selling Price of one share = MV - Brokerage = ₹40 - (0.5100×40) = ₹39.8
Selling Price of 120 shares = 120 × 39.8 = ₹4776
Since Selling price is Less than cost price, Carol suffered a loss.
Loss = ₹6030 - ₹4776 = ₹1254
