Solution

The correct option is B apoplastic
Apoplast and symplast are two routes used by plants to transport water from root hair cells to the xylem of the root.

In the apoplast route the water moves through non-living components of a plant such as cell walls and the intracellular spaces.

In the symplast route water moves through the living components of a plant such as protoplasms.

The casparain strip prevents water from entering the pericycle except through the cytoplasm of endodermal cells. Because of the casparian strip, water and minerals cannot cross the endodermis and enter the vascular cylinder via the apoplast.
