Question

Catalic cycle of enzyme action

Open in App
Solution

The catalytic cycle of the enzyme is as follows:
Firstly the substrate binds to the active site of the enzyme,This binding induces the active site to change its shape fitting more tighly around the substrate. The active site then breaks the chemical bonds of the substrate and the enzyme-product complex is formed. The enzyme then releases the products of the reaction and the enzyme becomes free to bind to anothe molecule of the substrate and pass through the cycle again.
