Open in App
Solution

Answer: Response

Many thin nerve fibres run through the clear cornea of the eye, which are extremely sensitive to touch and injury. This is the reason as to why we sense pain when a foreign object, such as a speck of sand or an insect, comes in contact with our eyes. Hence, pain in the eye is a response.
