Solution

The correct option is D Cambium
Cell cycle is an orderly sequence of events during which a cell grows, duplicates its genetic material and then undergoes division. The cells that do not divide further, temporarily or permanently, exit the cell cycle in G1 phase and enter into a quiescent (inactive or dormant) stage called G0 phase. Cells in the G0 stage remain metabolically active but no longer divide. Metabolically active cell means that the cell will carry out all the metabolic reactions for its survival.

Heart cells and nerve cells permanently enter the G0 phase.
Cells of cambium temporarily enter G0 phase and in later part of plant’s life re-enter G1 phase from G0 phase. After entering the G1 phase, the cell undergoes preparations to divide by synthesizing cellular contents. The cells of cambium divide forming new cells that cause secondary growth in plants.
