Question

Centrioles are only present in animal cells. So how does cell division take place in plant cells?

Solution

Dear Student,

Plant cells lack centrioles but they do have MTOC (Micro Tubule Organising Centre).
These MTOCs (without the centrioles) are responsible for the formation of mitotic spindle in plants and hence aid in the process of cell division.
