Certain metals would not evolve hydrogen gas with HNO3. Give reason.

It does produce hydrogen gas, if the nitric acid is dilute. If the HNO3 is concentrated the gas produced is a mixture of oxides of nitrogen, because concentrated nitric acid is a powerful oxidizing agent and can oxidize free hydrogen to water.
