Character sketch of APJ Abdul Kalam from the chapter my childhood
From the time he was a toddler, Abdul Kalam possessed a number of admirable attributes. His parents held a special place in his heart and he adored them. His father instilled in him the qualities of honesty and self-discipline, while his mother instilled in him the values of faith in goodness and genuine kindness. Kalam was a hardworking and enterprising child. When the train halt at Rameswaram was suspended during Wartime, he assisted his cousin in catching packages from moving trains. He was also a sensitive kid who absorbed a lot from his experiences. Early in his life, he realised that caste-based segregation is a poison that must not be allowed to flourish.
