Question

Check if 5, 12, and 14 form a Pythagorean triplet.

Open in App
Solution

For any natural numbers to form a Pythagorean triplet, the sum of squares of two numbers should be equal to the square of the third number.

Here,

52 + 122 = 25 + 144 = 169

142 = 196

Here, the sum of the squares of two numbers is not equal to the square of the third number and thus they do not form a Pythagorean triplet.
