Solution

Quadratic equation:

Quadratic equations are the polynomial equations of degree 2 in one variable of type ax2+bx+cwhere a,b,c,R anda0.

On expanding given equation we get,

(2x1)(x3)=(x+5)(x1)2x2-6x-1x+3=x2-1x+5x-52x2-7x+3=x2+4x-52x2-x2-7x-4x+3+5=01x2-11x+8=0

It's in the form of ax2+bx+c=0,where a=1,b=-11and c=8

Hence, the given equation (2x1)(x3)=(x+5)(x1) is a quadratic equation
