$x^{2} + \frac{1}{x^{2}} = 5 \frac{x^{4} + 1}{x^{2}} = 5 x^{4} + 1 = 5 x^{2} x^{4} - 5 x^{2} + 1 = 0$
It is not of the form ${a x}^{2} + b x + c = 0$
Therefore,the given equation is not a quadratic equation.
