If the two fractions when reduced to their simplest forms are equal i.e. when two or more fractions represent the equal parts of a whole, they are called equivalent fractions. Thus, to check whether the given fractions are equivalent we will reduce them to the simplest forms through the following steps:

Step 1: Converting 45into simplest form.

45 has been reduced to its simplest form because the common factor of numerator and denominator is one.

Step 2: Converting 2430 into simplest form.

We have, 2430=24÷630÷6 [ dividing numerator and denominator 6 ]

=45

Now 45 is the simplest form because the common factor of numerator and denominator is one.

Therefore, 45 and 2430 are equivalent fractions.
