Solution

(i) Renal artery:

  1. The renal artery is the blood vessel that takes blood from other organs and fills the kidney.
  2. The renal vein is the blood vessel that drains the kidney and transports blood to other organs.
  3. The renal artery carries oxygenated blood whereas the renal vein carries deoxygenated blood.
  4. Since the blood that contains excretory products is from other organs to the kidney via the renal artery, the renal artery has more urea than the renal vein.

(ii) Pulmonary artery:

  1. Arteries usually carry oxygenated blood.
  2. The exception is the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the lungs.
  3. Veins usually carry deoxygenated blood.
  4. The exception is the pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the right atrium.
