Halogens have maximum electron gain enthalpy as they have smallest size in their respective periods and therefore high effective nuclear charge. Thus, they readily accept one electron to acquire noble gas electronic configuration.

Bond dissociation enthalpy follows the order HF>HCl>HBr>HI. There is less effective overlapping of atomic orbitals involved in bond formation in HI as there is large difference in their atomic size, thus HI bond is weaker.

Ozone is thermodynamically unstable with respect to oxygen since its decomposition into oxygen results in the liberation of heat (Δ H is negative) and an increase in entropy (Δ S is positive). These two effects reinforce each other, resulting in large negative Gibbs energy change (Δ G) for its conversion into oxygen. Thus, high concentrations of ozone can be dangerously explosive.
