Solution

The correct option is B

A: GnRH
B: LH/FSH
C: Progesterone
D: Uterus

Multiple hormones are required for the development of the female reproductive system i.e., Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) released from the hypothalamus stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing hormone (LH) that plays a key role in sexual development and functioning (growth of egg in females).

Progesterone is a steroid hormone produced by the ovarian corpus luteum which helps in maintaining early pregnancy. Corpus luteum produces progesterone which stimulates further thickening of the uterus and preparing it for implantation and fertilisation.

Uterus is the muscular organ of the female reproductive system which is located between rectum and abdomen and it functions to nourish and provide a suitable environment for the development of fertilised eggs.
