Solution

The correct option is A

Australopithecus Homo habilis Homo erectus

During the course of human evolution, around 2.5 mya, the genus Homo split off from Australopithecus and the first species to exhibit a shift towards human traits was Homo habilis. One group of Homo habilis evolved into Homo erectus, which gradually evolved into Homo neanderthalensis, while another group of Homo habilis evolved into Homo heidelbergensis which eventually evolved into Cro-magnon man or Homo sapiens.
