BRCA1 and BRCA2 are tumour suppressor genes, and mutation of these genes leads to breast cancer and additional risk of various types of cancers. But these gene mutations do not have a link to cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a cancer of the entrance to the uterus. Most cases of cervical cancer are caused by a virus called human papillomavirus or HPV.
