Choose the correct order of the mechanism of urine formation.
Urine formation takes place in three steps:
1. Filteration: The blood is filtered in the Bowman's capsule. The filterate contains water, salts, urea, glucose, etc. Most of these components are required by the body. The filterate enters the tubular part of nephron.
2. Reabsorption: All the important components from the filterate like glucose, water, etc., are reabsorbed.
3. Secretion: All the unwanted components are secreted into the tubules from the blood capillaries surrounding the nephron.
Finally, the urine enters the collecting duct. In the collecting duct, water is reabsorbed and the urine is concentrated.
A normal human produces about 180L of glomerular filterate but excretes only 1-2L of urine. The rest is reabsorbed.
