The human circulatory system is a double circulatory system. It has two separate circuits and blood passes through the heart twice.
The vena cava carries the deoxygenated blood from the body to the right atrium.
From the right atrium, blood enters the right ventricle (6) which in turn pumps the blood into the pulmonary arteries (2).
The pulmonary arteries carry deoxygenated blood to the lungs for oxygenation.
Two pulmonary veins (4) from each lung bring oxygen-rich blood to the left atrium (5) which then enters the left ventricle.
The left ventricle (7) pumps oxygenated blood into the aorta which in turn branches and delivers blood to the rest of the body and organs.
Therefore, the correct answer is option E.
