Solution

The correct option is A Populations evolve while individuals do not evolve
Evolution is a change in population's alleles and genotypes from generation to generation. There are four basic mechanism by which biological evolution takes place and these include mutation, migration, genetic drift and natural selection. Natural selection produces evolutionary changes, when in a population some individuals that possess certain inherited characteristics, produce more surviving offspring than the individuals lacking these characteristics. As a result, the population will gradually come to include more individuals with the advantageous characteristics. In this way, the population evolves and becomes better adapted to its local circumstances.
So, the correct answer is 'Populations evolve while individuals do not evolve'.
