C Derozio supported the rights of women and opposed caste-based discrimination.
Henry Louis Vivian Derozio was an Anglo-Indian who started a new wave of reformation movement in Bengal. He was a professor in the Hindu College of Calcutta who wanted to instil progressive and liberal ideas. Thus, he started the Young Bengal Movement along with his students. He supported the rights of women and opposed caste-based discrimination. However, many traditionalists opposed his radical ideas, and he was forced to resign from the Hindu College in 1831.
