Choose the incorrect statement regarding chemical equilibrium from the statements given below.
Concentration of reactant changes after a system has attained equilibrium.
Chemical equilibrium is the state in which both reactants and products are present in concentrations which have no further tendency to change with time. Following are the characteristics of a chemical equilibrium:
(i) Reactants and products co-exist at chemical equilibrium.
(ii) It is dynamic at the molecular level. This means that even though the system is at equilibrium, there is movement of particles at atomic and molecular level.
(iii) The rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of backward reaction.
(iv) A concentration of reactant and product does not change after a system has attained chemical equilibrium.
(v) A chemical equilibrium is always attained in a closed system.
