There are different types of fires like class A, B, C, D, E and K. The fire due to a gaseous substance like acetylene or L.P.G is put under class C. Whereas, the fire due to a solid, a liquid and a chemical substance is categorised as class A, B and D respectively.
Generally, class E fire is caused due to electrical components and due to short circuiting. And class K (known as class F in Australia) fire happens because of cooking oils and fats.
