Solution

The correct option is D Abscisic acid – Flowering hormone
ABA is a stress hormone it has no role in flowering. Abscissic acid is an inhibiting hormone. It inhibits flowering in plants. It also causes dormancy in buds, preventing germination of seeds. It promotes senescence.

Gibberellin was discovered by E. Kurosawa in 1926 while investigating foolish seedling (bakanae) disease. It was caused by a fungus Gibberella fujikuroi.

Kinetin was the first artificial cytokinin to be discovered. Kinetin was originally isolated by Carlos Miller and Skoog, as a compound from autoclaved sperm DNA of herring fish, that had cell division-promoting activity. It was given the name kinetin because of its ability to induce cell division.

Auxin is the plant hormone which is mainly responsible for plant gowth and development. They are generally produced by the growing apices of the stems and roots.
