Let the slope of the chord through (7,1) be 4 m

Equation of line is

y1=m(x7)

mxy+(17m)=0

From the figure cos600=OMOA

12=OMr

OM=r2=102=5

Perpendicular distance from O(0,0) to M=r2

|7m1|1+m2=5

(7m1)2=25(1+m2)

24m214m24=0

Let m1 , m2 be the roots of the equation

Then product of the roots m1m2=2424=1

m1m2=1
