Class B fire is caused due to:
Petrol
Oil
Varnish
Fires caused due to flammable liquid substances like petrol, diesel, oil, varnish, solvents, paints, kerosene, cooking oil etc., are classified as class B or type B fire.
All these substances are lighter than water, therefore, fire extinguishers can be used to extinguish fire.
Fire caused due to solid substances like wood, textile, coal, paper etc., are classified as class A fire.
