Number of students in each class = 50
Number of classes = 3 (Class I ,II and III)
Total number of students = 3×50

In order to multiply by a number ending in zeros, we first need to multiply the number as if it didn't have zeros, and then we just write all of the zeros the number had, on the right of the final answer.

So, to find the value of 3×50, we find 3×5 first and then write a zero on the right of the result that is obtained.
We know, 3×5=15.
So, 3×50=150.

Number of teachers = 9

Total number of people on the trip
= Number of teachers + Number of students
= 150 + 9
