I agree with the view of modern authors, coordination is the essence of management due to following reasons:
* Coordination is needed to perform all the functions of management.
i) In planning, coordination is required between organization and individual goals.
ii)In organising, coordination should be there between amount of authority and responsibility.
iii) In staffing, coordination is required between the skill of employees and jobs assigned to them.
iv) In directing, coordination is required between superior and subordinate.
v) In controlling, coordination is required between standard and actual performance.
*Coordination is required at all the levels of management, i.e. at top, middle and lower level.
*No firm can survive for long without coordination
