Resources: Any materials that are accessible in an efficient manner for achieving a particular activity with greater ease is called a resource.

Based on the availability, resources are classified into two types:

1. Natural resources: The resources which are obtained from nature. Natural resources are further classified based on the availability of resources in nature as follows:

i. Exhaustible resources: Resources that are available in a limited amount and take million years to form in nature. Example: Coal, Petrol.

ii. Non-Exhaustible resources: Resources that are available in abundance or in large amounts in nature. Example: Sunlight, Air, water, etc.

2. Man-made Resources: These resources are made by humans by utilizing natural resources.
