1. A group of cells is called tissue. Some group of cells has either stopped their growth completely or for the time being‚ these are called permanent tissues.
2. The permanent tissues in which the cells are similar in structure‚ origin and function are called simple permanent tissues.

There are three types of simple permanent tissue namely

1. Parenchyma
2. Collenchyma
3. Sclerenchyma
