• Burning of paper is a chemical change because when we burn the paper ash is obtained at last which is a new substance and its chemical and physical properties are very much different from paper. Once the paper is burnt we cannot obtain the paper again.
• A chemical change is a permanent change in which new substances are formed whose chemical and physical properties are completely different from that those of the original substance.
