Classifying the given polynomial:

Degree of polynomial: If a polynomial is in one variable, the highest power of the polynomial is defined as the degree of polynomial.

Linear polynomial: A polynomial of degree one, is called linear polynomial.

The given polynomial is 3x-5.

Clearly this polynomial is in one variable & the highest power is 1. So, it is a linear polynomial.

Hence, 3x-5 is a linear polynomial.
