If we add add acid in turmeric powder no change occur solution remain colourless. Generally milk and vegetable juices contain weak acids like lactic acid citiric acids and on adding turmeric powder solution become colourless.
Perfumes are also acidic in nature so they also remain colourless in turmeric powder.
Generally liquid medicine and body lotions are basic in nature. They are weak base and they turn turmeric powder yellow to red brown.
Similiarly china rose which is a rose colour solution turn magenta in presence of acid and turns green in presence of bases.
Petunia flower changes reddish purple in acidic and voilet in basic solution
Onion juice changes to pale red in acidic and green in basic solutions
