Explanation of diagram :

  1. Fulcrum is a fixed point of the lever. Here, the fulcrum is situated on either side of the knife.
  2. Load is applied by knife on the other end of the lever just opposite to fulcrum.
  3. Effort is acting between load and fulcrum.

Definition of class III lever :

  1. Levers in which effort is situated between the load and the fulcrum are called class III levers.
  2. Example- knife, fire tongs, the forearm of a human, etc.
