Dear Student,

The plants get nutrients from three different sources: air, water, and soil. Plants get nutrients from the natural minerals found in rocks and soil. They also get nutrients from dead decaying organic matter and manures deposited in the soil.

Macronutrients Air (carbon dioxide) Carbon, hydrogen and oxygen
Water Hydrogen and oxygen
Soil Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulphur
Micronutrients Soil Iron, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Boron, Molybdenum, Chlorine, Sodium
