Mechanism of blood coagulation:

Injured tissue or disintegrated platelets releases

↓

Thromboplastin and platelet thromboplastin

↓(in the presence of Ca 2+ve ions )

Prothrombinase(activates prothrombin)

↓(inactive heparin)

Prothrombin → Thrombin

↓(converts)

Fibrinogen----------------------→ Fibrin which forms fibrin threads

↓

in between the threads of fibrin, dead formed elements will be deposited and the clot is formed
