Biological diversity or biodiversity is simply an amazing variety of life forms on earth, and the high variability of their life processes. In fact, it represents the totality, abundance, and interrelatedness of the genes, species, and ecosystems of a region and their interactions with the environment.

The management and conservation of biodiversity or wildlife is the maintenance of the quality of the environment and the protection, preservation, perpetuation of the threatened species of organisms in their natural habitat.

The two basic strategies of biodiversity conservation are in situ or onsite conservation, and ex-situ or offsite conservation.

Zoos, botanical gardens, gene banks, germplasm banks, seed bank are examples of ex-situ conservation.

National parks, biosphere reserves, wildlife sanctuaries are the example of in situ conservation.

e.g-national parks are the protected area, where all kinds of organisms are given legal protection. So, they are strictly reserved for the protection.
