So in (i) figure we need to colour, 2 out of 8 boxes.That will represent = $\frac{2}{8}$
= $\frac{1}{4}$

Similarly in (ii) figure we need to colour, 3 out of 12 boxes.That will represent = $\frac{3}{12}$
= $\frac{1}{4}$
