Solution
Electropositive element: An electropositive element is one that tends to lose electrons and form positively charged ions.
Metals: The elements which can easily form positive ions (cation) by losing or donating electrons are called metals.
For example, Sodium, with atomic number, has in its valence shell which can easily lose to form ion.
Metals typically possess a few electrons in their valence shell which they can lose to form a positive ion, hence metals are called electropositive elements.
Examples: Sodium, Aluminium, Copper, Iron, Tin, Gold, Lead, etc.
