Dear Student,
Evaporation is the process by which water changes from a liquid form to vapours. Evaporation is a surface phenomenon, as opposed to boiling which is a bulk phenomenon.
Rate of Evaporation depends on many factors such as wind, temperature, surface area and humidity.
Rate of Evaporation Temperature. As the temperature rises, evaporation gets faster. With an increase in the temperature, the kinetic energy of the particles also increases, and more and more particles are able to break through the force of attraction from other particles. Hence, they get converted into vapors. Thus, evaporation increases with temperature. This is why a wet shirt dries quicker on a hot sunny day rather than on a cold cloudy day. More is the temperature, faster the water turns into vapors.
