Nitrogen-saturated environments favor the growth of these plants that can harm the ecosystem. On the other hand, denitrifying bacteria are a curse to the farmers as they disintegrate soil nitrates to liberate free nitrogen gas into the atmosphere, hence reduces levels of nitrogenous compounds in the soil
