Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by an object due to its motion.
Due to the distance between the particles i.e. interparticle distance and weak forces of attraction between particles gas particles have maximum kinetic energy.
Liquids have less kinetic energy than gases while solids have the least kinetic energy.
Kinetic energy sequence: Gases>Liquids>Solids.
