SS bond length y is greater than SS bond length x. The bond length y is 239 pm and the bond length x is 217 pm. In the first molecule, the number of O atoms are more which results in greater partial positive charge on S atom. In the second molecule, each S is attached to lone pair electrons. Thee are high SS lp-lp repulsions due to which the bond length increases. Hnce, the bond pair of electrons of SS bond are strongly attracted which results in shorter bond length.
