Compare the area of :

(a) square of 35.2cm (b) rectangle of 20cmand 10.5cm

Step-1: Finding the area of square

Area of square =side2

=side×side=35.2×35.2=1239.04cm2

Hence , area of square is 1239.04cm2

Step-2: Finding the area of rectangle :

Area of rectangle =l×b

=length×breadth=20×10.5=210cm2

Hence , area of rectangle is 210cm2

Therefore , area of square is greater than area of rectangle .
