a. Maize: It is mainly grown in states of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar,Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and requires a temperature of 21°C to 27°C. It is a kharif crop and grows well in alluvial soil.
b. It is manly grown on the onset of monsoon and is harvested between September- October.
c. Millets on the other hand includes Jowar, Bajra and Ragi there are certain difference in their features.,
d. Ragi grows in dry regions and grows on black, red soil in the states of Karnataka,Uttrakhand, Sikkim etc.
e. Jowar is mainly grown in wet areas, and is a rain fed crop, it is mainly grown in Karnataka, Maharashtra. It also grwos apt in red and yellow soil.
f. Millets require a temperature of 15 to 20 °C.,
